Draft of amendments to Constitution regarding decentralization at final stage of approval – Shmyhal
KYIV. Oct 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said that the draft amendments to the Constitution in terms of decentralization have already been worked out and are at the final stage of approval.
"We still have many tasks, including further reforming of local self-government, improving the system of territorial organization of power, which requires constitutional changes that have already been worked out. Final conciliation procedures are underway on the text of the bill," he said at the conference "On the road to Lugano: Decentralization" in Kyiv on Friday.
In addition, according to the prime minister, to complete the reform of decentralization, it is necessary to adopt new basic laws: the law "On prefects", a new version of the law "On local self-government", as well as amendments to budget and tax legislation.
