Draft law on increasing excise duties on automotive fuel overloaded with amendments – MP Zhelezniak
KYIV. Sept 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – It was proposed to contribute 1,077 amendments to draft law No. 7668-d on increasing excise duties on automobile fuel, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak reported.
"Now, either the authors of the amendments will agree on a compromise version (frankly, this is the smartest option during the war), or the procedure will also be shortened and there will be further disputes in the hall. But if excise taxes return, it looks like it will be at least since October," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, a slightly larger number of edits (1,197) was proposed to include in draft law No. 7669 on the use of funds of the state road fund.
As reported, in March the Verkhovna Rada canceled the collection of excise taxes on motor fuel. This decision was due to the acute crisis in the fuel market of Ukraine, caused by the global fuel crisis and Russia’s attacks on the infrastructure intended for the storage and transportation of energy resources.
On August 30, the Verkhovna Rada at first reading adopted bill No. 7668-d, which proposes to establish an excise tax on auto gas at EUR52 per 1,000 liters, on other types of motor fuel – EUR100, and to reduce the excise tax on alternative fuels with the addition of bioethanol from EUR162 to EUR100.
