Dpty FM Tochytsky discusses Saakashvili's health state with Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine
KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mykola Tochytsky on Tuesday, November 9, met with Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine Giorgi Zakarashvili, during which the parties paid special attention to the situation with the citizen of Ukraine Mikheil Saakashvili.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the Georgian diplomat, in particular, gave detailed information on the circumstances of his transfer to the penitentiary medical institution in Gldani.
"Tochytskyy stressed that the protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad is a priority for the Ukrainian state. The Deputy Minister drew attention to yesterday’s note of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, handed over to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, and expressed hope for its positive consideration by the Georgian side," the message says.
It notes that the interlocutors also discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including the schedule of political contacts.
"An exchange of views took place on further joint actions within the framework of the Associated Trio of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova in the context of preparations for the Eastern Partnership summit on December 15, 2021," the Foreign Ministry said.
