Distance learning should not affect teachers' salaries – Shkarlet
KYIV. Sept 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Teachers cannot be deprived of their salaries, just as the salaries cannot be reduced because of distance teaching, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet said.
Shkarlet said this during the conversation with teachers while on a business trip in Mariupol, according to the website of the Ministry of Education and Science.
"The issue of wages payment is standardized in the Labor Code and the Field Agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science and the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers," the minister said.
Shkarlet also discussed the issue of vaccination against COVID-19.
"I want to stress again and again that when choosing vaccinations, we choose not only our own health, but also safety for everyone around us, including children, and their parents too," the minister said.
