Digital service for voluntary participation in pension insurance presented in Ukraine

KYIV. March 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The work of a new digital service for voluntary participation in pension insurance was presented by Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych, Deputy Head of the President’s Office Yulia Sokolovska and Chairman of the Board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine Yevhen Kapinus.

“Due to the Russian full-scale war against Ukraine, a significant number of people lost their jobs, some of them went abroad. Not being able to pay contributions to the pension system, these people miss the opportunity to receive decent pensions in the future… Law No. 2734 was developed and adopted, and for its implementation, a digital tool has been introduced to be able to pay pension insurance contributions in their favor, and to the accounts of other people,” the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy said.

It offers the opportunity to pay voluntary insurance premiums without paperwork, visits to any institutions and reports, in particular from abroad, as well as in Ukraine, if a person has no official income.

“Thus, he will be able to continue to form his insurance experience in Ukraine in order to receive an appropriate pension upon reaching retirement age. It is also a tool for individual philanthropists and international organizations to support pensioners in a transparent digital way, who are a vulnerable category in the full-scale war,” the ministry said.

According to the report, everyone chooses the amount of contributions, people do not need to submit any reports.

“This mechanism also provides an opportunity for a family in which one of the couple decided not to work and devote himself to the family – the second of the spouses to pay insurance premiums for a dignified old age together,” the department added.

The ministry said that any Ukrainian can use the service, regardless of location. To do this, it is enough to conclude an agreement with the Pension Fund on their web portal.
