Depositors of insolvent banks receive UAH 10.9 mln of guaranteed compensation in Aug
KYIV. Sept 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In August 2021, depositors of insolvent Ukrainian banks received UAH 10.9 million as part of guaranteed compensation, which is 2.9 times less than July payments (UAH 31.7 million), the press service of the Deposit Guarantee Fund has said.
According to the report, as of the beginning of September 2021, starting from February 2012 (when the payments were transferred under its control after the entry into force of the law on the households deposit guarantee system), the Deposit Guarantee Fund paid a guaranteed compensation to depositors in the amount of UAH 90.544 billion.
According to the Fund, as of September 1, the total amount of funds accumulated by it grew to UAH 17.802 billion.
The Fund received UAH 3.385 billion from the regulatory fee in January-August.
As of the beginning of August, the register of the fund participants numbered 71 banks. In addition, by the beginning of the month, 46 insolvent banks were under the management of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, and the liquidation of 51 banks was completed.
