Demand for new buses in Ukraine up by 12% in Nov

KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Primary registrations of new buses in Ukraine in November increased by 11.7% compared to October of this year, but decreased by 25.3% compared to November 2021, according to statistics from the Ukrautoprom association.

According to the statistics published on the association’s website, Ataman buses (manufactured by the Cherkasy Bus plant) returned to leadership in this segment, with the registration of 55 vehicles versus 11 in October 2022 (fourth place in the ranking) and 44 units in November last year, when the brand also was in the lead.

In second place is Citroen with 26 buses, with an increase in sales by two units versus October of this year and by 22 units versus November 2021, when it was ranked seventh in the ranking.

The leader of the previous reporting month, Etalon buses (manufactured by the Chernihiv Automobile Plant) closes the top three in November with 19 vehicles versus 40 in October 2022. This is followed by Ford (eight buses) and ZAZ (six vehicles). Also two buses Ruta and one each Jac and Temsa are registered.

The statistics of Ukrautoprom does not include buses (including school buses) purchased at the expense of the state and local budgets.

On Wednesday, Ukrautoprom also published on its Telegram channel information on the import of buses (new and used ones) to Ukraine in January-September of this year, according to which 1,021 buses were imported (16% less than a year earlier), the total customs cost of which amounted to $30.7 million. At the same time, 86% of imports were used equipment.

The leader in the supply of buses for nine months was Germany – 388 units, second place was taken by Poland – 126 units, and third by Turkey with 107 buses. Belgium and Sweden also entered the top five suppliers, they imported 98 and 66 units of this type of transport, respectively.
