Defense Ministers of Baltic states, UK, Poland, reps of some European military departments pledge to support Ukraine with military equipment
KYIV. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Defense Ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Great Britain, Poland and representatives of a number of European military departments at a meeting held in Tallinn on Thursday pledged to support Ukraine with military equipment for various purposes.
"We commit to collectively pursuing delivery of an unprecedented set of donations including main battle tanks, heavy artillery, air defence, ammunition, and infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine’s defence," a statement adopted by the participants of the meeting says.
They noted that this assistance is carried out from national reserves and resources and illustrates the mutual understanding of the seriousness of the situation and their commitment to urgently increase and accelerate support for Ukraine.
The participants of the meeting called on allies and partners to follow their example at the upcoming meeting in Ramstein on Friday and make the planned support packages in order to ensure Ukraine’s victory on the battlefield as soon as possible.
The meeting of the defense Ministers of the Baltic States, Great Britain, Poland and representatives of Denmark, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands and Slovakia was held on the initiative of heads of the military departments of Estonia, Hanno Pevkur, and Great Britain, Ben Wallace.
