Defense forces' active actions to return security to residents of frontline zone – Zelenskyy

KYIV. March 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The active actions of the military will gradually return security to those residents who are in the frontline zone, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address on Wednesday.

“When we are preparing active actions for our military, all our defense and security forces, we also mean that such active actions will gradually return security to those who are now in the frontline zone,” he said.

According to him, “every movement of our flag will also mean the safety of our people. And in those territories that will be liberated from the occupier. And in those territories that will become a deeper rear. And in those border areas where the defeat of the occupier will finally bring peace.”

On Wednesday Zelenskyy held a “long, detailed conference call with everyone who manages various areas of state defense – the military, the SBU, the Intelligence Agency, foreign intelligence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, other officials, the office.”

“We keep every frontline direction under control. Khortytsia, Tavria, Odesa, Pivnich (North) there were reports on the situation for the day. In addition to directly front-line areas, attention is also paid to front-line territories. Those cities and regions that are subjected to Russian shelling every day and every night,” he said.

According to the president, “Now in most of the territory of our country, where it was possible to ensure a relatively safe life, you may not feel what the life of those of our people who are in the border regions with Russia, who are in the south of our state. Where the shelling is. Where people, though not at the front, but still right at war. Where Russia is constantly trying to destroy everything that people have. Constantly – and this is no exaggeration.”
