KYIV. March 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A decision on the possibility of withdrawing funds from government bonds by nonresidents will be made next week, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Andriy Pyshnyy has said.
“This issue [on the possibility of withdrawing funds from government bonds abroad by nonresidents] was discussed in detail with the IMF and the Ministry of Finance with the participation of the NBU. Today, we have an understanding of next steps. We plan to make appropriate decisions next week,” he said at a press briefing on Thursday.
As reported, in 2022, the NBU announced plans to lift the ban on the withdrawal of funds by nonresidents from government bonds on April 1, 2023.
