Death toll of Russian missile strikes on Kharkiv on Aug 17-18 increases to 19 people – head of regional police

KHARKIV. Aug 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In Kharkiv, the rubble of dormitories destroyed by Russian missiles continues to be dismantled in Slobodsky and Saltivsky districts of the city, said Volodymyr Tymoshko, head of the State Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region.

"The dismantling of the rubble in Slobodsky district continues, we can assume that there are two more people under the rubble… [search operation in Saltovsky district]. We also believe that there are probably no people there," Tymoshko told reporters on Friday.

According to him, at the moment it is known about 15 dead and 20 wounded in a hostel in Saltivsky district and four (of whom one is a child) dead and 22 wounded in Slobodsky district. Thus, the total number of deaths as a result of missile strikes inflicted by the Russian occupation forces on two dormitories in the evening of August 17 and in the morning of August 18 increased from 17 to 19 people.

As reported, on Friday, August 19, mourning was declared in Kharkiv in memory of those killed as a result of massive missile strikes inflicted by the Russian occupation forces on the city in the evening of August 17 and in the morning of August 18.
