Days of Ukrainian cinema kick off in Italy – embassy
KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The days of Ukrainian cinema began in Italy, the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in Italy reported.
"On November 3, in the main hall of the House of Cinema (Casa Del Cinema), the grand opening of the Days of Audiovisual Art of Ukraine took place in the framework of which the Days of Ukrainian Cinema were also officially launched in the Italian capital," the message says.
As noted, the event was opened by Ambassador of Ukraine to the Italian Republic Yaroslav Melnyk. It was also attended by Ukrainian diplomats, head of the State Film Agency Maryna Kuderchuk, head of the Ukrainian Film Association Victoria Yarmoschuk, famous Ukrainian actors, screenwriters and film directors, as well as authorized representatives of the Italian Ministry of Culture, film critics and leading media.
"Today Ukrainian cinema is experiencing a period of rapid development. Domestic films are regularly released in world cinemas, a new generation of ambitious actors debuts their films at the most prestigious international festivals. Every year Ukraine is becoming more and more recognizable in the film industry. Not only the professionals of this industry speak about it, it is also on the lips of the public. I am sincerely glad that all this is happening with the support and assistance of our state," Ambassador Melnyk said.
According to him, within three days Ukraine will present to Italy the best achievements of the country’s audiovisual art, talk about promising projects in this area for potential cooperation between the countries.
It is noted that the festival program contains the best Ukrainian films of various genres, which have already won hundreds of international awards and sold out in the most prestigious cinemas in the world.
