Cyprus changes rules of entry for Ukrainians from Dec 6

KYIV. Dec 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – According to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, from December 6, persons aged 12 years and older arriving in the country are required to do a PCR test for coronavirus by January 10, 2022.

The decision on mandatory PCR testing upon arrival in the country by air or sea, regardless of the country of departure, applies to all persons aged 12 years and older, regardless of whether they have a certificate of complete vaccination or recovery from COVID-19. In this case, the cost of the PCR test will be paid by passengers, the Consular Department of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Cyprus said on its Facebook page.

The adoption of temporary measures is necessary in connection with the discovery of a new mutation of COVID-19 Omicron, which was recorded in Africa and Europe.

"It is specified that passengers entering the Republic of Cyprus from ports for short-term visits must have a negative PCR test certificate for up to 72 hours. In addition, upon arrival, they will have to undergo rapid antigen tests at the expense of the Republic of Cyprus," the message says.

The decision will take effect from Monday, December 6, 2021, and will be valid until January 10, 2022, after which it will be revised based on epidemiological data.
