Customs Service hands over confiscated goods worth UAH 356.4 mln to AFU in 2022

KYIV. Jan 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Customs Service of Ukraine in 2022 handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) confiscated goods worth UAH 356.4 million, including 1,231 vehicles worth UAH 167.4 million.

According to the agency’s release, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also received military property for UAH 44.3 million, 1.5 million packs of cigarettes for UAH 39.6 million, 6,482 units of computer equipment for UAH 12.4 million, 837 mobile phones for UAH 10.2 million, spare parts for cars for UAH 10 million and watches for UAH 3.3 million.

Food products for UAH 4.5 million, clothes and shoes for UAH 14.6 million, timber for UAH 3.2 million, medical products for UAH 2.2 million, 2,102 units of headphones for UAH 2.1 million and other categories of property for UAH 30.4 million were also given for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The State Customs Service indicated that the main recipient was the Ministry of Defense – UAH 299.7 million, while the State Border Service was sent confiscated goods for UAH 25.8 million, regional military administrations – UAH 13.8 million, the Interior Ministry – UAH 9.6 million and SBU for UAH 7.4 million.

As reported, the confiscated property is transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement agencies in accordance with government’s order No. 186 dated February 26 and decision No.1043 dated September 16, as well as in accordance with the decisions of the military command on the expropriation or seizure of property, adopted on the basis of the provisions of the law on the legal regime of martial law.
