Court in Netherlands intends to publish verdict on MH17 on Nov 17
KYIV. Aug 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A court in the Netherlands will issue a verdict in mid-November in the case of the crash of the Boeing-777 aircraft, which was operating flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and was shot down in the sky over Ukraine on July 17, 2014, Western media reported on Monday.
The meeting at which the court will announce its decision is scheduled for November 17.
In June, the MH17 trial ended, which began on March 9, 2020.
Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 flying MH17 Amsterdam (Netherlands) – Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) was shot down in the sky over Donetsk region on July 17, 2014. All 298 people on board died. Two thirds of the passengers are Dutch nationals. The cause of the disaster is being investigated by the International Investigation Team, which includes representatives of law enforcement agencies from Ukraine, the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia and Malaysia.
In September 2016, the group published conclusions that the liner was shot down by a missile launched from the Buk surface-to-air missile, and a year ago announced that Buk belonged to Russia’s 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade stationed in Kursk.
The JIT named Igor Girkin (Strelkov), Sergey Dubinsky, Oleg Pulatov and Leonid Kharchenko as suspects in the MH17 crash on May 19, 2019. All of them were put on the international wanted list.
