Contract with Hamilton mine US to allow Centrenergo to sell electricity for Oct-March at special offer with guarantee – company
KYIV. Aug 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The contract with the American Hamilton mine US for the supply of 37,500 tonnes of coal will allow PJSC Centrenergo to sell electricity for October 2021 – March 2022 in the amount of up to 300 MWh on the base schedule at a special offer with a guarantee, the generating company has said.
"The auction for the sale of a limited amount of electricity – up to 300 MWh on the base schedule – is planned at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange on September 3 and September 6. For the first time among generation companies, for these auctions, Centrenergo will add the option of guaranteeing the sale of the contracted electricity volume without the possibility of its reduction due to technical necessity," Centrenergo said in a commentary to Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
The company clarified that the payment for electricity, according to its offer, will be carried out in stages, within five days of delivery.
As reported, DTEK Energy and PJSC Centrenergo had agreed to supply 75,000 tonnes of thermal coal from the United States in the coming months, which they would divide equally upon arrival.
The supply of American coal from Hamilton mine US will be carried out through the international trader Trafigura.
