Consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine affect lives of Moldovan citizens – PM Gavrilita
KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine have an impact on the lives of Moldovan citizens, Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said.
"Of course, we cannot compare our situation with the tragedy that Ukraine is experiencing. But, in principle, this tragedy has already spread from the territory of Ukraine to neighboring countries. We, in the Republic of Moldova, are also suffering from Russian aggression. The consequences of the war that we see in the energy, security, humanitarian and economic spheres, they affect every person who lives in Moldova," Gavrilita said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Kyiv on Tuesday.
She stressed that Russia’s shelling of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure led to massive power outages in Moldova as well.
"Several Russian missiles crossed our airspace, this is a gross violation of Moldovan constitutional sovereignty, neutrality and international law," she said.
Gavrilita said that the recent fall of a rocket on the territory of Moldova is another evidence that the war has already crossed the borders of Ukraine into neighboring countries.
She also noted that at the moment the investigation of this incident, as well as the previous case in the south of the country, is ongoing.
