Conference in Switzerland on Ukraine reforms should demonstrate changes in our country – Kuleba
KYIV. Oct 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The fifth conference on reforms in Ukraine, which will be held in Lugano, Switzerland, in 2022, should demonstrate specific results and "become a success story," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.
"Next year in Lugano, Ignazio’s hometown, the fifth conference on reforms in Ukraine will be held. Today we paid a lot of attention to its content and agreed that we want to see clearer and more concrete results of this conference. Our teams have already been formed and are working on so that this conference becomes a success story," Kuleba said at a press conference following talks with Federal Councilor, Vice President and Chairman of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis in Kyiv on Thursday.
The minister stressed that the reform conference is important because Ukraine wants its friends and partners to see how Ukraine has already changed and continues to change. "Ukraine in 2014 and Ukraine in 2021 are two very different countries," Kuleba said.
According to him, the reform conference is a format where Ukraine and its Western partners meet together as one whole.
In his turn, Cassis noted that the conference is expected to bring together from 500 to 700 participants.
"We will talk about very specific things: about the reforms that we are witnessing in Ukraine, which are very rapid and which relate to two very important areas for the residents of Ukraine and Switzerland – this is prosperity and stability," added Cassis.
