Competition commission for NABU head says selection process coming to end, there won't be any quality compromise

KYIV. Jan 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The key priority of the commission on the competition for the position of head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) is the quality of the selection process and the result, the commission has said.

"An online meeting of members of the commission on the competition for the position of NABU head with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna was held. All participants in the discussion agreed that the key priority in the commission’s work is the quality of the process of selecting candidates and the result of the competition without delay," it said on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.

The commission also said that its work is currently at the finish line, which consists of three tasks: the collection and analysis of information on the integrity of candidates, an interview on the integrity of candidates, and an interview on the subject of professional competence of candidates.

"Each of the tasks will be implemented in the shortest possible time, but without compromise on the quality of the process," the commission said.

"The commission is aware of the importance of the selection, which will determine the direction of the development of NABU over the next seven years, therefore, it works effectively, openly, smoothly, and in line with the law on NABU and the rules of the competition," it said.
