Communication, Internet to be restored in de-occupied territories ASAP – Reintegration Ministry
KYIV. Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories says that communication and the Internet will be restored in the de-occupied territories as soon as possible.
"Communication with the outside world should return to the settlements that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively liberating from the enemy. This will resume communication of people among themselves and with the authorities. And this is exactly what one of the priority steps of the Coordinating Headquarters for Occupied Territories should be," Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereschuk said in a statement following a meeting with leading providers and Internet associations.
It is noted that in the liberated settlements, first of all, they will clear the area, restore power supply, launch Internet providers and establish communication.
"These works are already starting in Kharkiv region. At present, mobile communication of one of the operators in Balakliya has been restored. It is also planned to launch the Starlink satellite communication system in these territories as soon as possible," the ministry said.
