Coal stocks at TPPs on Tuesday down by 26,000 tonnes during operation of NPP 12 units

KYIV. Jan 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Coal stocks at warehouses of thermal power plants (TPPs) of Ukrainian generating companies decreased by 3.6% (by 25,700 tonnes) last Tuesday, to 688,100 tonnes, according to the Ministry of Energy.

The decrease in stocks is associated with the disconnection from the power grid on January 25 of two units of nuclear power plants (NPPs). In particular, power unit No. 1 of Khmelnytsky NPP on January 25 was disconnected at 4:22 from the power grid due to the operation of the differential protection of a unit transformer (it was connected to the grid on January 26 at 6:27).

Power unit No. 4 of Zaporizhia NPP was disconnected from the power grid on January 25 at 12:00 to eliminate gas leaks in a turbogenerator cooling system. The expected duration of work is until 07:00 on January 27.

In addition, at power unit No. 4 of Rivne NPP, the 67th day of the average scheduled repair lasts, which is designed for 74 days.

According to NPC Ukrenergo, the emergency repair of two NPP units resulted in a decrease in energy output by Energoatom on January 25 by 11.1% compared to January 24, to 262 million kWh, and an increase in thermal power plant production by 25.4%, to 156.1 million kWh.
