City council votes for mayor's decision to pay bonuses to capital's doctors

KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Kyiv City Council on December 7 voted for the decision to allocate additional bonuses to the capital’s doctors, which was initiated by leader of the UDAR party, mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko, according to the website of the Kyiv City Council.

"Thanks to the Kyiv City Council commissions for the prompt consideration of this decision. It is the doctors who are saving the health and lives of Kyiv residents, and repelling wave after wave of coronavirus attacks. The city has found an opportunity to allocate additional funds from the budget to support the capital’s medical workers. They will receive additional payments this month," Klitschko said at a meeting of the Kyiv City Council.

According to him, medical workers of Kyiv of the first and second link will receive payments. Doctors will get UAH 10,000 each, nurses – UAH 8,000 each, junior medical staff – UAH 6,000 each.

It is specified that Vitali Klitschko submitted a draft decision on the payment of additional bonuses to the capital’s doctors to the Kyiv City Council last week. According to him, doctors "deserve these awards for real heroism in overcoming the pandemic and conducting a vaccination campaign."
