Checkpoint Kyiv prevents about 2,000 potential illegal migrants from entering territory of Ukraine in 2021
KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of the year, the separate checkpoint Kyiv has prevented about 2,000 potential illegal migrants from entering the territory of Ukraine, deputy chief of staff and head of the border control department of the checkpoint Oleksandr Pryschepa said.
"In general, in 2021, more than 4,000 people were denied to cross the state border and about 2,000 potential illegal migrants were not allowed into Ukraine," Pryschepa said at a briefing at the Boryspil airport in Kyiv on Thursday.
He reported that according to the results of work in 2021, about five million people, almost 40,000 vehicles were allowed through the state border.
"While crossing the state border, attempts to cross the state border using passport documents containing forgeries were stopped in 74 cases. Also, attempts to cross the state border using invalid passport documents were stopped in 213 cases," Pryschepa said.
According to him, in 2021, more than six kilograms of cocaine was not allowed to be imported into the territory of Ukraine in five cases.
"A total of ten attempts to move across the state border the medicinal products containing psychotropic substances have been stopped. Attempts to import precious metals and products made from them in the amount of almost UAH 3 million have also been identified and stopped. In total, during 2021, goods worth more than UAH 41 million, that were illegally attempted to be imported into the territory of Ukraine, were identified," Pryschepa said.
As specified in the checkpoint Kyiv, the given data refer to the airports Boryspil, Zhuliany, Hostomel and Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky railway station.
