Changes for better noticeable already in first month of architectural inspectorate's work in market – opinion

KYIV. Oct 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – During the first month of operation of the State Inspectorate for Architecture and Urban Planning, changes for the better are noticeable in the market, Volodymyr Zubyk, President of the Intergal-Bud Association of Construction Enterprises, said.

"The last six years of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate’s [SACI] activity can be compared to darkness. A lot of unjustified demands on developers, bans and other restrictions that pursued corruption goals did not allow the market and its participants to work effectively. Therefore, the creation of the Inspectorate for Architecture and Urban Planning is the main event of the year. We see progress and are ready to move on towards effective and transparent cooperation," Zubyk said during the Building & Construction Forum 3.0, which took place in Kyiv this week.

At the same time, the construction industry also needs other reforms, including the development of the mortgage lending market, the expert added. According to Intergal-Bud, about 40% of applications for mortgage loans are rejected.

The development company Intergal-Bud has been operating in the residential real estate market since 2003. Its portfolio includes 74 completed projects with a total area of over 3 million square meters. The company has built 136 houses, of which 52 are in Kyiv, seven – in Kyiv region, and 77 – in other regions.

The project portfolio of the company includes more than 3.8 million square meters. As of the beginning of 2020, about 1.1 million square meters were under construction in different housing projects.
