Centrenergo fully pays off debts to state mines for supplied coal
KYIV. Oct 30 (Energy Reform) – PJSC Centrenergo has fully paid off the suppliers under the concluded direct contracts for the shipped coal products.
"The level of settlements between Centrenergo and state coal mining enterprises is 100% today. There is no debt to the miners for the coal supplied," the generating company said on the website.
At the same time, Centrenergo noted that it had made 100% settlement, despite the fact that the terms of the contracts provide for a deferral of payment for products for 30 calendar days.
The company explained such actions by understanding "the urgent need to increase domestic coal production in order to ensure the security of the state."
For its part, the company expects from state mines to fulfill their contractual obligations to ship fuel without violating the terms and declared volumes, the message says.
As reported, member of the Centrenergo directorate Volodymyr Haluschak, in a commentary to Energy Reform on October 26, pointed out that the shortfalls from the state mines are about 240,000 tonnes.
A few days earlier, Centrenergo received UAH 650 million from NPC Ukrenergo as debt repayment for work in the balancing market, which improved the company’s liquidity and fulfilled its obligations to pay for coal.
