Carbon monoxide kills five people in nursing home in Dnipro – police
KYIV. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Five women between the ages of 75 and 89 died in a private nursing home in the central district of the city of Dnipro, police in Dnipropetrovsk region said on Tuesday.
"In one of the rooms on the second floor of the house, where the victims were found, there was a short circuit and electrical wiring caught fire. The women could have been poisoned by carbon monoxide. Victims’ bodies were sent for a forensic medical examination to establish the cause of death," the message says.
Currently, the administrator of the nursing home has been detained.
Information about the incident was entered in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 270 (violation of fire safety requirements established by law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, an investigation is underway, expert examinations have been appointed.
