Canadian Ukraine Sovereignty Bonds admitted to circulation in Ukraine
KYIV. Jan 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Securities and the Stock Market Commission has admitted to circulation in Ukraine the so-called Ukraine Sovereignty Bonds (ISIN CA135087P733) issued by Canada for CAD 500 million (about $373.3 million), the funds from the placement of which were provided to Ukraine as loans.
The decision was taken by the National Securities and Stock Market Commission at a meeting on Wednesday, according to its website.
As previously reported by the Government of Canada, the issuance received strong demand from investors in Canada and abroad, with a total book order of CAD 500 million, and resulted in a semi-annual interest payment of 3.245%. The bond will mature on August 24, 2027 – Ukrainian Independence Day – at which time bondholders will receive the full repayment of their initial investment.
According to data on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, these bonds are currently quoted at a rate of 101.285% of par value.
