Cabinet identifies Environmental Protection, Education Ministries as responsible for implementation of Ukraine's obligations in Nagoya Protocol
KYIV. Jan 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers has identified the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science as responsible for fulfilling the obligations arising from Ukraine’s membership in the Nagoya Protocol.
As representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk said on Telegram, the corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Tuesday.
In particular, changes have been made to the list of central executive authorities and other state bodies responsible for fulfilling obligations arising from Ukraine’s membership in international organizations.
It is noted that the list is supplemented with the position "Conference of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity", and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine and Ministry of Education and Science.
