Cabinet determines list of categories of families from among IDPs for priority provision of housing – PM

KYIV. April 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has determined a list of categories of families from among the internally displaced persons (IDPs) who will be provided with housing in the first place, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said.

"Today the government will approve a document defining which IDP families will be provided with housing in the first place. These are large families, pregnant women, families with children, disabled people, pensioners. The government will buy housing for temporary residence of families. We will also repair housing facilities in order to resettle people there," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.

According to the prime minister, Ukrainians have registered more than 100,000 applications for compensation for destroyed property in Diia.

"And after the victory, we will rebuild everything. Today we will expand such opportunities for legal entities. In the near future, they will also be able to submit applications to Diia, so that the government begins to form a detailed register of damaged and destroyed property," he said.

Thus, the meeting approved the procedure for the formation of housing funds intended for temporary residence, accounting and provision of such housing for temporary residence of IDPs.

In addition, the procedure for the purchase, construction of housing for the purpose of transferring for temporary residence to IDPs and the procedure and conditions for granting subventions from the national budget to local budgets for the purchase, construction of housing for the purpose of transferring for temporary residence to IDPs were approved.
