Cabinet approves composition, regulations on operation of Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters to strengthen protection of Ukraine's state border

KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has promulgated a decree on the creation of an Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters for coordination during the strengthening of the protection of the state border of Ukraine.

"In order to facilitate the coordination of the activities of central and local executive authorities, local self-government bodies, military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, law enforcement agencies and public associations while ensuring the strengthening of the strengthening and protection of the state border of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decides: to form an Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters composed according to the appendix," the text of the document published on the government’s website says.

The first deputy head of the State Border Guard Service is appointed head of the headquarters. The composition also includes the deputy head of the National Police, the deputy commander of the National Guard, the deputy head of the State Emergency Service, the deputy head of the State Migration Service, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Infrastructure. In addition, the document provides for the inclusion of representatives of the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Government Office for the Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, as well as representatives of other state bodies and public associations in the staff of the headquarters.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers in a resolution established that cadets of higher military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service, as well as institutions of higher education with specific training conditions that are included in the management sphere of the Ministry of Internal Affairs can be involved in certain measures to strengthen the strengthening andprotection of the state border.

Ministries and other central executive bodies were instructed to organize joint training of the security and defense sector components in cooperation with local authorities to ensure readiness for action to strengthen the protection and protection of the state border of Ukraine.
