Businessman Yaroslavsky, Nathaniel Rothschild discuss Ukrainian Silicon Valley project
KHARKIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of DCH Group Oleksandr Yaroslavsky has discussed the project of creation of Ukrainian Silicon Valley on the basis of the Ecopolis HTZ multipurpose business park (Kharkiv) with Executive Chairman of the Board of Volex Plc Nathaniel Rothschild.
“I talked with him half the night about this project. He expressed a desire to participate not only with advice, but also with his knowledge, his connections. This will be a serious locomotive for this project,” Yaroslavsky said at the “Kharkiv: Development and Investments” international conference on Wednesday.
As reported, Ecopolis HTZ is a long-term investment project created by the DCH group of businessman Yaroslavsky on the basis of the sites of the Kharkiv Tractor Plant (KhTP), which will become an anchor resident. The planned investment volume is $1 billion by 2033. It is planned to create at least 10,000 jobs. The business park will include an industrial park, a technology park (IT and R&D clusters), a logistics complex with an e-commerce distribution center, agro-technological and trade clusters, medical and educational centers.
The investment portfolio of the DCH group includes assets in such industries as construction and development (Ecopolis HTZ, the Karavan megastore shopping and entertainment center chain in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro, Kharkiv Palace hotel, Vozdvizhenka residential complex), finance (INGO insurance company), industry (KhTP, Sukha Balka mine, Dniprovsky Metallurgical Plant), transport (Kharkiv international airport), and sports (the Olymp rugby club).
Ecopolis HTZ signed a memorandum of cooperation with Tus-Holdings, a large Chinese investment and industrial company, on July 28, 2020.
The creation of a working group for the implementation of the Ukrainian Silicon Valley project, in which Yaroslavsky acted as an investor, was initiated on September 8, 2020 by the former mayor of Kharkiv, Hennadiy Kernes.
