Business ready to allocate about UAH 25 mln for restoration of capital's St. Nicholas Church
KYIV. Sept 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The initiative of head of the Rozetka company Vladyslav Chechotkin to allocate UAH 1 million to restore the capital’s Church of St. Nicholas in Kyiv suffered from the fire on Friday evening, September 3, has found support from over 20 other companies, their owners and managers over the weekend.
SD Capital and Alfa-Bank, whose offices are located directly opposite the church, Monobank, FUIB, PrivatBank and Raiffeisen Bank (all in Kyiv), announced their readiness to allocate UAH 1 million each after Chechotkin.
They were joined by Ajax Systems, SAGA Development, Nova Poshta, Dragon Capital, Taryan Group, Arricano, Forum business centers and Sherp all-terrain vehicles.
In addition, ENSO, the Autostrada group of companies, Epicenter K, Quarter Partners and the development company UDP, Blackshield Capital, Smile Development, Yevhen Cherniak announced the allocation of UAH 1 million each.
The medical laboratory Dila announced its intention to provide UAH 0.5 million, Ibox Bank – UAH 1.78 million, and president of Kyiv School of Economics Tymofiy Mylovanov has already transferred UAH 0.1 million.
The fire in the Roman Catholic Church of St. Nicholas broke out on Friday evening. According to the State Emergency Service, it was localized at 22:40, and at 23:26 it was liquidated. There are no casualties or injuries. Eighty people and 16 units of the State Emergency Service’s equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. The fire damaged the organ and the interior decoration of the church. The chandelier fell.
"We understand that the complete restoration of the church will cost tens of millions of hryvnias. Just like the restoration of the organ," said Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko, having published the account of the National House of Organ and Chamber Music, where money can be transferred for this purpose.
