Boryspil airport restores passenger traffic by 61% in ten months compared to pre-crisis period
KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv) in January-October 2021 served 8.008 million passengers, which amounted to 61% of the same period of the pre-crisis 2019 (13.069 million passengers).
The press service of the enterprise reported in October, in particular, the airport served 1.031 million passengers, including 653,540 people on regular flights, 37,571 people on non-scheduled flights.
Compared to October of the pre-crisis 2019, passenger traffic recovered by 71%.
"The three most popular international destinations among the airport passengers in October were Turkey, Egypt, as well as Germany. Thus, the total share of passengers traveling on flights to these countries amounted to 51% of the total number of passengers sent from Boryspil airport," the report says.
At the same time, according to the airport, the largest number of passengers were transported in the following directions: Antalya, Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Barcelona, Ankara and Vienna.
