Biden warns Putin about consequences for Russia if nuclear or chemical weapons used in Ukraine
KYIV. Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – U.S. President Joe Biden warned Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the consequences for Russia in the event of the use of nuclear or chemical weapons in Ukraine, DailyMail reports.
"Don’t. Don’t. Don’t. You will change the face of war [in Ukraine] unlike anything since World War II. It’ll be consequential. [Russia] will become more of a pariah in the world than they ever have been. And depending on the extent of what they do will determine what response would occur," DailyMail quotes Biden as saying in an interview on CBS.
Biden said that otherwise this would have consequences for Russia, although he did not specify the specific steps that the American side would take in response.
