BES director elaborates bureau's plans
KYIV. Sept 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Director of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) Vadym Melnyk has talked about how the agency will begin working.
"We are starting by investigating businesses, but we begin by analyzing ‘schemes’ used by business for tax evasion. We start from revealing and overcoming the development of ‘schemes,’ then covering up corruption and corrupt officials, who also cook up up such schemes," he said on the air of the Ukraina 24 TV channel on Saturday.
Melnyk noted that only after that the department would move to business inspections. After all, it is "a consequence of using the scheme."
Earlier it was reported that the launch of the Bureau of Economic Security was postponed to November 25. The next day after that, the State Fiscal Service should cease to exist. The body should become the only one that will investigate crimes related to the economy.
