Belarus registers 1,973 new cases of COVID-19, 13 deaths in past 24 hours
MINSK. Sept 23 (Interfax) – Belarus has registered 1,973 new cases of COVID-19, as against 1,989 the day before, and 13 deaths in the past 24 hours, the Belarusian Health Ministry’s press service said on Thursday.
The cumulative number of coronavirus infections reached 524,248 in Belarus by September 23, the ministry said.
"Throughout the period of infections in the country’s territory, 4,054 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 have died," the ministry said. The death toll stood at 4,041 on September 22.
As of this date, 508,936 patients who tested positive for the novel coronavirus have recovered (507,413 as of September 22), including 1,523 over the past day, the ministry said.
Belarus performed 30,807 tests for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests to 8,300,660.
"More than 1,942,000 Belarusians have received their first shot of coronavirus vaccine, including over 1,548,000 fully vaccinated persons," the ministry said.
