Belarus registers 1,168 cases of COVID-19, 12 deaths in past 24 hours
MINSK. Aug 31 (Interfax) – The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases reached 481,532 in Belarus on August 31, the Belarusian Health Ministry’s press service said.
According to the ministry, there were 1,168 contagions on Tuesday, as against 1,058 the day before.
"Over the entire period of infections in the country’s territory, 3,780 patients who tested positive for the novel coronavirus have died," the ministry said. The death toll stood at 3,768 on August 30.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 474,300 patients have recovered from COVID-19 (473, 274 as of August 30), including 1,026 over the past day, the ministry said.
Belarus conducted 6,449 tests for the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests to 7,797,000.
More than 1.63 million Belarusians have received their first shot of coronavirus vaccine, including more than 1.35 million fully vaccinated persons.
