Belarus records 1,979 COVID-19 cases, 12 related deaths over past 24 hours
MINSK. Sept 17 (Interfax) – Belarus has recorded 1,979 cases of COVID-19 over the past day in comparison to 1,967 cases on Thursday, the press service for the Belarusian Health Ministry said on Friday.
As many as 512,460 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Belarus since the beginning of the pandemic, the press service said.
"Since the infection began spreading in the country’s territory, 3,978 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 have died," the press service said. The death toll stood at 3,966 on September 16.
As many as 500,051 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 have recovered (498,655 as of September 16). A total of 1,396 people have recovered over the past day, it said.
As many as 30,626 tests for coronavirus have been conducted in the country over the past day, bringing the total number of tests performed to 8,149,596.
"Over 1,852,000 Belarusians have received their first shot of a COVID-19 vaccine, including over 1,516,000 people who have been fully vaccinated," the press service said.
