Belarus hands note of protest to Ukrainian defense attache over airspace violation
MINSK. Dec 6 (Interfax) – The Belarusian Defense Ministry has handed a note of protest to the Ukrainian defense attache over the violation of Belarus’s airspace by a Ukrainian helicopter, the Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"The defense attache at the Ukrainian Embassy to the Republic of Belarus was summoned to the Defense Ministry’s International Military Cooperation Department on December 5, 2021, and a note of protest was handed him over the increasingly more frequent violations by the Ukrainian side of the Republic of Belarus’s state border in airspace," it said.
The decision to hand a note of protest to Ukraine was prompted by the violation of Belarus’s airspace by a Ukrainian Mil Mi-8 helicopter near the community of Novaya Rudnya on December 4, 2021, it said.
