Belarus enhancing air defense in western, northwestern sectors

MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) – Belarus is enhancing air defense in the western and northwestern sectors, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said on Telegram on Wednesday.

"The Belarusian Armed Forces have enlarged air defense forces on duty in the western and northwestern sectors of the Belarusian state border," the ministry said.

Interaction of forces and hardware of the regional air defense network of Russia and Belarus was practiced in the air today at the decision of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, coordinated with the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry, it said.

As reported earlier, Russia’s Tupolev Tu-22M3 bombers flew over Belarus in the course of an exercise on Wednesday. The bombers took part in a check of the preparedness of air defense units of the regional air defense network of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
