Azerbaijani govt extends COVID-19 quarantine until Jan 1, 2022
BAKU. Oct 29 (Interfax) – The Azerbaijani government has extended a special quarantine regime over the COVID-19 pandemic, the government press service said on Friday.
"With the aim of preventing the spread in the country of the coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and its possible complications, the special quarantine regime in Azerbaijan shall be extended until 6:00 a.m. January 1, 2022," the government directive says.
The special quarantine regime would have expired on November 1, 2021.
Azerbaijan has recorded 524,788 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of October 28. As many as 6,995 people died of COVID-19 and 489,032 others have recovered.
At present, 28,761 people are receiving treatment for COVID-19 or are quarantined.
