Azerbaijani forces invade Armenian territory in eastern border sector, 4 combat positions of Armenian army surrounded – Armenia's Security Council
YEREVAN. Nov 15 (Interfax) – Units of the Armenian Armed Forces have been withdrawn from four combat positions in the east of the country after the Azerbaijani forces invaded this area, the Armenian Security Council said.
"On November 14, at 1:00 p.m., units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces with the support of armored vehicles invaded the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in one of the areas in the eastern sector of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. As a result of the actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, four combat positions of the Armenian Armed Forces found themselves surrounded," the press service for Armenia’s Security Council said.
Following talks, the Azerbaijani military vehicles and troops have left Armenian territory, but the units of the four Armenian combat positions have been withdrawn, too, it said.
"Nevertheless, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, which entered Armenia back in May 2021, remain deployed in this area," the Security Council said.
