Azerbaijan boosts income from oil, gas pumping 16% in Jan-Sept

BAKU. Dec 6 (Interfax) – Azerbaijan’s income from the operation of trunk pipelines rose 16% year-on-year in January-September 2022 to 2.629 billion manat, or $1.54 billion at the current exchange rate, the Azerbaijani government told Interfax.

Income from the operation of trunk oil pipelines rose 1.2% to 922.226 million manat, or $542.5 million, and income from the operation of trunk gas pipelines rose 26% to 1.706 billion manat, or over $1 billion.

Trunk oil pipelines pumped 27.505 million tonnes of oil in January-September, up 5.1%, while gas pipelines transported 28.501 billion cubic meters of gas, up 12.1%. Approximately 79% of oil was pumped through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, and approximately 53% of gas was transported through South Caucasus Pipeline.

Azerbaijan’s income from transportation through trunk pipelines rose 31.2% in 2021 compared to 2020 to 3.05 billion manat, 1.198 billion manat from oil pipelines, up 6.3%, and 1.852 billion manat from gas pipelines, up 54.7%.

The official exchange rate for December 6 is 1.7 manat/$1.
