AvtoKrAZ hands over Shrek-RCV vehicle for demining to Emergency Service

KYIV. Sept 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC AvtoKrAZ (Kremenchuk, Poltava region), the largest shareholder of which is businessman Kostiantyn Zhevaho, has handed over a Shrek-RCV armored vehicle to the State Emergencies Service to carry out demining work, the press service of the company reports.

According to the report, the car worth more than UAH 16 million was handed over by AvtoKrAZ on the Day of Civil Protection Workers of Ukraine together with Poltava Mining and Processing Plant’s (PGOK) charitable foundation of Ferrexpo, the founders of which are Zhevaho and Viktor Lotous.

"A vehicle for demining territories is now very relevant. There is a lot of ammunition on the territory of Ukraine, and this vehicle will help dispose of them in the safest way for service personnel," the general director of Belanovo GOK and the head of the Ferrexpo corporate social responsibility programs in Ukraine, Yuriy Khimich, said.

The report notes that rescuers from Poltava region are now working in many areas: in Nizhyn, Kharkiv, Donetsk and other regions.

Shrek-RCV is a multi-purpose armored vehicle designed to carry out the tasks of operational transportation of specialists, as well as cargo and equipment for mine clearance.

AvtoKrAZ is the only truck manufacturer in Ukraine that has a closed technological production cycle. The model range of the KrAZ brand includes 33 basic models, almost 350 modifications and more than 1,500 sets of two-, three- and four-axle trucks with different layout solutions.

Ferrexpo is a Swiss iron ore company with assets in Ukraine. In 2021, it increased net profit by 37.1%, to $870.99 million, with a 48.1% increase in revenue, to $2.518 billion.

Ferrexpo owns 100% of the shares of Poltava GOK, 100% of Yeristovo GOK and 99.9% of Belanovo GOK.
