Average daily loading of Ukrzaliznytsia in Sept exceeds figures for last five years

KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The average daily loading in wagons of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia in September 2021 amounted to 779,000 tonnes, which is 2% more than in September 2020, by 5.5% – than in September 2019, by 3.2% – than in September 2018 and 3.7% – than in September 2017.

According to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, in September most of all were loaded: iron ore – 5.6 million tonnes, construction materials – more than 4 million tonnes, grain – about 3.6 million tonnes, coal – 2.2 million tonnes.

"The constant operational work of management, clear tasks and control in the cargo work gave results. September 2021 ended with the highest average daily loading in five years. We do not plan to stop, especially given the harvest forecasts, and we are fully ready to ensure uninterrupted transportation," acting head of the company’s board Oleksandr Kamyshin said.

As reported, the average daily cargo handling by Ukrzaliznytsia in the second quarter of 2021 increased by 12.6% compared to the same period in 2020, to 730,500 tonnes.
