Avdiyivka coke plant cuts coke output by 10.4% in Jan-Oct
KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PrJSC Avdiyivka Coke and Chemical Plant, part of Metinvest Group, in January-October this year reduced production of metallurgical coke with 6% moisture content by 10.4% compared to the same period last year, to about 2.2 million tonnes.
As a plant representative told Interfax-Ukraine, in October, 188,000 tonnes of this product were produced.
Earlier, in a report on the results of Metinvest operating activities over nine months of 2021, it was noted that in the third quarter the volume of coke production in the group as a whole amounted to 1.094 million tonnes. This is 9% less than in the previous quarter, mainly due to a decrease in the average number of coke ovens used at Avdiyivka Coke and Chemical Plant, as well as due to a shortage of raw materials.
Avdiyivka Coke and Chemical Plant is the largest coke plant in Europe, the main coke producer in Ukraine.
Avdiyivka Coke and Chemical Plant is part of Metinvest Group, the main shareholders of which are PrJSC System Capital Management (SCM, Donetsk) (71.24%) and Smart-Holding (23.76%).
Metinvest Holding LLC is the management company of Metinvest Group.
