Assets of pawnshops expand by 6.5% in H1 2021 – NBU
KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The assets of pawnshops in January-June 2021 expanded by 6.5%, to UAH 4.119 billion, according to an overview of the nonbank financial sector, published on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on Tuesday.
According to the report, in the second quarter of 2021, the assets of pawnshops grew by 3.8%.
In the first half of 2021, the number of registered pawnshops decreased 5% compared to the end of 2020, to 287.
According to the NBU, the volume of new loans issued by pawnshops in the second quarter increased 5% compared to the previous quarter and 1.4 times year-over-year.
The activity of pawnshops remains profitable, and the predominant share of income is formed from interest income (88%).
