Assets of owner of AMIC fuel station network affiliated with Russian companies seized

KYIV. Aug 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At the request of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the corporate rights of an enterprise that owns a large network of fuel stations in Ukraine for a total amount of more than UAH 50 million have been seized.

A law enforcement source told Interfax-Ukraine, it is about the AMIC network, the filling stations of which previously belonged to the Russian oil company Lukoil.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, 308 real estate objects of this enterprise were also seized – gas stations, warehouses and land plots.

"According to the investigation, officials of the enterprise during 2015-2022 evaded paying taxes in the amount of more than UAH 270 million. At the same time, they illegally transferred funds in the amount of more than UAH 1 billion to a non-resident legal entity controlled by the Russian oil company in order to legalize them," the statement said.

According to the prosecutor’s office, pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on facts of tax evasion and legalization of property obtained by criminal means is carried out by the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BES) in cooperation with the State Tax Service of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 212, Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In turn, the BES clarified that the beneficiaries and officials of the two companies operating in the field of sales of fuels and lubricants are affiliated, and their actual owners are citizens of the Russian Federation.
