ASKO-Medservice insurer refuses OSAGO license – NBU

KYIV. Oct 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Bank of Ukraine on October 27 canceled the license of PrJSC ASKO-Medservice insurance company (Kyiv) for compulsory insurance of land vehicle owners’ civil liability (OSAGO) on the basis of the submitted application, the regulator’s website says.

At the same time, it is noted that ASKO-Medservice has 19 valid licenses for compulsory and voluntary insurance.

The volume of insurance premiums of the company for the first half of 2021 amounted to UAH 279.159 million, the amount of formed insurance reserves – UAH 73.802 million.

The company is primarily engaged in financial risk insurance. The share of premiums for this type of insurance as of June 30, 2021 was 33.8%, medical insurance (continuous health insurance) – 17.5%, property insurance – 11%, civil aviation insurance – 7%, civil insurance of vehicle owners’ liability – 6.1%, insurance of cargo and luggage – 5.8%, for risk types of insurance – 1.27%.

As reported, on June 24, 2021, PrJSC ASKO-Medservice lost the status of an associate member of the MTIBU on the basis of the submitted application.

As of October 1, 2021, the company has 17 OSAGO agreements, according to which the following was formed: the reserve for unearned premiums – UAH 5.103 million, the reserve for declared but unpaid damage – UAH 34,800, a loss ratio fluctuation reserve – UAH 5.698 million.

According to the information provided by ASKO-Medservice, the insurer has no outstanding/overdue obligations under compulsory insurance of land vehicle owners’ civil liability.

ASKO-Medservice was founded in 1993 through the reorganization of ASKO-Zhytomyr Ltd. The priority areas are transport and property insurance, insurance of civil liability of car owners and other compulsory types of insurance.

The charter capital of the insurer is UAH 25.2 million.
