Ascet Shipping to build granary with capacity of 5,000 tonnes in Odesa region

KYIV. March 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In 2023, Ascet Shipping LLC will begin construction of a 5,000-tonne granary near Izmail, where the largest Ukrainian port on the Danube River is located, the company has said on Facebook.

“This will not only create new jobs but also help the state-owned enterprise to cope with the surge in shipments due to the war,” the company said in the report.

Previously, Ascet Shipping said that last year it ensured the transshipment of 500,000 tonnes of grain. The company started working in five new ports for it: Odesa, Izmail, Reni, Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky and Kiliya, while its main facilities in the Berdiansk seaport were occupied.

“We are developing our infrastructure, renting storage facilities and investing in the construction of new destinations in Odesa and the ports of the Danube River – new destinations for us. Starting from January, we plan to increase the total volume of transshipment by 50%,” the company said on the last day of last year.

Ascet Shipping specializes in providing logistics services for export shipments of grain and food cargo in seven ports of Ukraine – in Berdiansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Mariupol, Kherson, Dnipro and Zaporizhia. At the beginning of the war, the company moved production facilities to the west of Ukraine, established cooperation with silos in the region and Europe. The company plans to send goods by rail and road to European ports.

The director and main beneficiary of the Ascet Shipping group of companies, which includes First Fumigation Company, Ascet Cargo, Azovalliance Group and others, is Kateryna Rusina. She owns 60% of the shares. Four of her children are co-owners of the business and have shares of 10%.
